Locust Pose

Locust Pose

Check it outttt! Okay, so I haven’t been very good about posting but I have a list to catch up on that includes the wonderful progression of my yoga practice, running my first marathon, dealing with insane hip, sciatic joint pain/ hormones (I blame them for my lack of posting!), and then some other happenings in my life.

Firstly though, my locust pose! My legs flew right up in Bikram tonight. Yes, I try to do a Bikram class once a week. The benefits of it are amazing, and it is such a challenge to stay in control of your body. Check it out.

Don’t worry though, my first and always love will be PranaVayu.

Printable Schedule (PDF)

I started today off with a 3 mile run, and I will do my 4 mile run tomorrow.  Take Wednesday off.  3 miles again on Thursday and then my long 5 mile run this weekend.  I’m already beginning to plan ahead by looking at races that correspond with my training schedule.  We’ll see what I sign up for… which reminds me too, I signed up for the Boilermaker again. Yeeaaah!

All of my training runs will be logged on my Garmin Connect site and at dailymile.

Wish me luck!

On the yoga front, I got a full 90 minute PranaVayu Inspired yoga class in this evening.  Bliss!  Especially after the last week of sharing a bed with my very feverish 6-year-old for four nights.  Strep was the culprit, no other symptoms but just the high fevers.  It was a long, sleepless week.  Sick kid breath is disgusting, by the way.

That’s that.  I plan on continuing with my 3-4 times of yoga, and doing one strength training class during the week.  I’d like to stick with fit camp on Fridays but I don’t see that always being possible.  I’m hoping to avoid injury, focus on my nutrition and getting enough sleep these next 16 weeks.

So, here we go!! Training for my first marathon has begun…. OMG!WhatwasIthinking!!
